My Story - Lynsey Sterrey

I have been practicing Callanetics for eight years and obtained my licence to teach students in early 2005. I can honestly say that Callanetics has changed my life.

As a child I was extremely sporty, participating in gymnastics and athletics to a high level. However, as my early teens approached, I was in increasing pain due to my (then) undiagnosed Hypermobility Syndrome (overly mobile joints). I decided then that it was much easier and less painful to avoid all types of sport and so began adulthood as a somewhat reluctant couch potato.

However, I did eventually drag myself off the sofa and joined a Callanetics class - initially to keep my mother company. Straight away I was hooked. Not only did I notice that my body was shaping up and fast, but my back and joint pains had all but disappeared as the muscles around my joints became stronger and more resistant. Eight years on I am now able to play all manner of demanding sports and can even enjoy the benefits of working out at a gym – something I could NEVER have even entertained before.

I have since moved to Great Rissington, Cheltenham with my partner and 2 sons and as there are no Callanetics classes in the local area I have decided to start my own.

My aim is to help introduce Callanetics to as many people of all shapes and sizes, ages and physical conditions as possible. Callanetics really is a revolutionary exercise programme that has helped many people over the years, including myself, transform their bodies into toned, strong and pain free structures.

If you are willing to put in the few hours of hard work Callanetics requires, then you too can reap these unrivalled benefits.

My Story - Lucy Davis

After many years of personal training and slogging away in the gym, on treadmills and lifting weights, my body was at breaking point. After a series of painful injuries, ranging from Achilles tendonitis to a dropped hip and back pain, I decided it was time to re-evaluate my fitness regime. If nothing else I couldn’t afford the chiropractors fees anymore!

It was at this time that I discovered Lynsey and Cotswold Callanetics. She pushed my body harder and further than any gym session had before, but without causing me any damage or pain. She taught me how to use the strength I already had and build up the areas that were weaker whilst keeping my body safe. I still do some low impact cardio work but I no longer need to do hundreds of squats or sit ups. In fact, once you’ve done Callanetics you will never feel a sit up in the same way again!

My chiropractor has noticed the difference and I am now down to quarterly “maintenance” appointments!

I decided that I wanted to learn more about what Callanetics had to offer and how far it could take me, and now I am a qualified teacher, hoping to show others out there like me that there is an alternative way to keep fit and feel healthy.
