Lose baby inches (post natal)

Because of the non-impact nature of Callanetics, many pregnant women choose to continue Callanetics throughout their pregnancy – and feel great for it. However, we would always recommend you seek medical advice from your doctor before you begin practising Callanetics while pregnant.

Once you have had your baby, got over the lack of sleep ( as if you ever get over that!) and had your six week check by your doctor, you may be ready to start exercising again.

On average women gain around 30 pounds during their pregnancy; however many of us will put on a lot more than that. It is usually fairly easy to lose the first 18 to 20 pounds within a month or so, but losing those additional pounds can be really tough. You may find that your body is completely different after having a baby and what used to work for you doesn’t anymore.

But, with perseverance, patience and a great exercise programme like Callanetics, you CAN safely and effectively get your body back into shape.

And it’s not just the remarkable toning qualities of the Callanetics exercises that will help you lose those baby inches. Within every Callanetics class, we practise a number of pelvic floor exercises, which, as every woman who has had children will testify, are invaluable for getting your body back in full working order.
